Code of Conduct / Discipline Policies

Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct identifies the standards of behavior that are expected of all AMHA members, including players, coaches, parents, directors, and volunteers. The AMHA is committed to providing and maintaining a minor hockey environment where all individuals are treated with respect.

Discipline
Generally, Hockey Nova Scotia rules dictate the penalties and suspensions which may be levied against a player or team official for conduct on or off the ice.
Some types of conduct, whether on or off the ice, however, may warrant additional discipline or suspension. All HNS penalties and suspensions shall be considered to be minimum penalties and AMHA reserves the right to increase suspension beyond Hockey Canada, HNS, or HNSMC.
AMHA reserves the right to discipline any member and/or player of its association.

These are behaviour guidelines for Board Members. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disciplinary action as outlined in the AMHA Disciplinary policy.

Team Policies

Ice Allocation
This document covers how ice time is allocated. This includes how regular practice times are assigned, and how games are prioritized.

Jerseys
This document covers the responsibilites of the teams, parents and players in regards to jerseys.

Purchasing Jerseys and Clothing
To achieve a look of uniformity among each team in Antigonish Minor Hockey, standardized jersey and clothing rules apply.

Fundraising
This document covers the process a team must follow in order to take part in fundraising activities. This includes what fundaraising money can be used for.

Affiliated Players
Some players will be affiliated to higher level teams. This document covers the process for a higher level team requesting a player as well as the scenarios when a lower level team can refuse to allow a player to go.

Information regarding when fees are to be paid and how they are calculated.

Refunds
Information regarding refunds and how they are calculated.

Lottery
Information regarding AMHA 50-50 lottery. This includes the resposibilites of the parents and teams, as well as minimum ticket sales requirements and buyout options.

Tryouts

Tryout Process
Tryouts for rep teams occur in September. This document covers the policies and process in place to how rep teams are chosen.

Injured Player Tryout Policy
This policy covers when a player is injured at the time of tryouts.

Team Staff

Certification
This policy covers the process for coaches and managers to get certififed by HNS. All registered bench staff must be certified through HNS.

Coach Resignation
This policy covers the process for a coach resigning.

Coach Reinstatemnt
This policy covers the process for a coach being reinstated.

Returned Criminal Records Check
This policy covers when a members CRC is returned with a requirement for fingerprints.

This document covers the process managers must use to resolve issues related to AMHA.
